Technical Questions

Question: The installation is cancelled after a certain percentage has been reached.
Answer: There are three possible reasons for that:

Question: The game does not start. What can I do?
Answer: Check the system requirements and make sure that all required drivers are installed. More information about this matter can be found here.

Question: Everything done but it’s still not starting. What now?
Answer: If you have rebooted your sytem after installing all drivers and the game is still not running please contact the Customer Service and have the file Glow.log ready, which you can find in the installation directory of Glow.

Question: Upon starting Glow my mouse cursor disappears and my computer freezes.
Answer: If this problem occurs it’s possible that the installed drivers for your sound card are not DirectX compatible. In that case you need to get DirectX 9.0c compatible drivers from the card’s manufacturer.

Question: I have got problems with the graphics display. What can I do?
Answer: If all required drivers are installed and up to date the problem can also be related to the in-game settings (resolution, color depth etc.). If you are still able to see the menu and the options in Glow you may try to change the resolution and color depth. It is normally best to use the same settings as the ones used for your desktop. In case the Glow menu is not visible you can change these settings using Glow's configuration utility that can be accessed from the start menu. Alternatively, the settings can be found in the Glow.ini file, which is located in the game’s folder. You can find the relevant settings in the [Graphics] section.
If this should not help, you can still switch to OpenGL graphics mode using the configuration utility. Although this mode is officially not supported by us, it may help users of particular graphics cards that are causing trouble.

Question: For some reason not all sounds are played. What could be the cause?
Answer: This indicates that either your sound card does not support a sufficient number of sound sources or that the setting in the options menu is incorrect. The standard value is 64. However, 64 sound sources are only used if your sound card supports that number of sound sources. If the setting is correct please find out how many sound sources your card supports from the card’s manufacturer or from the card’s manual.

Answer: The saved games are stored in the subfolder SaveGames in Glow’s installation directory.

Question: Where can I find the screenshots?
Answer: The screenshots are saved in the subfolder Screenshot of Glow’s installation directory.
